Black Background

OUR STORY.

Established in 2017, we were the first agency to solely focus on the representation and development of Black digital talent in the UK, a group who can easily be regarded as pioneers of the industry.

The agency has two parts; on one side is dedicated to Entertainment PR, supporting studios and labels in reaching a diverse audience authentically through PR methods. The other side is our newly founded Digital Talent Agency, made up of influencers we exclusively manage as well influencers in our network who we have made a commitment to uplift and grow across their social platforms.

We provide a variety of services including Specialist consultancy, Specialist PR, Event Management, Influencer Marketing, Influencer Management.

The company was founded after we saw a massive gap in the market for authentic Black female voices in the entertainment and Influencer industries. It was quickly realised that both industries could greatly benefit from a company dedicated to informing and educating brands whilst simultaneously supporting and providing opportunities for content creators of colour.

As a specialist agency, we are dedicated to supporting and promoting black women and women of colour in beauty, lifestyle and entertainment industries. Authentic diversification of the industry is at the forefront of all our work and we work hard to aid brands in revamping their strategies and widening their customer base.

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

So no one told you life was gonna be this way… yes you guessed it. I’m a huge, huge Friends fan. And no you can’t convince me otherwise. I also know every episode of My Wife and Kids - love.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

I’m a 90s rnb/hip hop girl, and I’m not talking 1999-2000s (although I do love that era) I’m talking 1992-1997. What a time to be alive! (I barely was but don’t watch that). Anything R&B past or present has my heart though.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

I’m not a huge podcast listener but when I do, it has to be Black Gals Livin’ or 90s Baby Show. But you have to watch 90s Baby Show on YouTube to understand how funny those guys are. Also special mention to Pass the Meerkats and the OG podcast queens, The Receipts.

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

J-Lo romcoms, nothing better than a J-Lo romcom, actually my fave has to be Maid in Manhattan, classic.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

Speaking of J Lo, you can’t go wrong with old school RnB, the JaRule, Ashanti’s. When music was real, that’s my fave genre. Oh can’t forget Afrobeats though.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

Podcasts are not my thing but I really enjoy “The Relationshit Podcast”, but there’s not enough episodes. I need moreeee!

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

This is a tough question you know! Two series I could watch at any time of any day are The Office (US, don't bring me the UK one) and My Wife and Kids but I've been in my anime bag over the last few years too. My favourite film has to be Coach Carter....big up Lion King though, RIP my guy Mufasa.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

Anything Kanye West, I'm involved. The UK scene is popping too, Knucks, J Hus, Dave, Little Simz, MacOsare ...don't let me make a list....

FAVOURITE PODCAST

Has to be After Eight Podcast, genuinely hilarious content.

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

So for my favourite film, it has to be High School Musical 3 (Yes the third one is the best and nobody can convince me otherwise I promise lol, save your think pieces I’m not trying to hear it). For my favourite TV show, it’s none other than the chaotic “Glee”. I can rewatch it over and over again every few months and not get bored.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

On the music side, my taste spans across multiple genres but I’m a pop girl through and through. If I had to listen to just 1 artist for the rest of my life it would be Ariana Grande. That doesn’t mean all I listen to is Taylor Swift btw (contrary to SOME people’s beliefs). Honorary mentions though include Wizkid, Griff and Kehlani.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

For podcasts, both Black Girls Livin’ and The Receipts Podcast are my go-tos. If you just want to feel a part of a conversation between hilarious black women then check them out, Victoria Sanusi is a true comedian you know.

SENIOR PUBLICIST

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

I love a good family oriented film, so either Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan was the original IT girl) or This Christmas (there's a scene where Regina King's character confronts her husband about cheating and the way she deals with him is 100/10 genius). TV wise I love anything with a good ensemble cast, This Is Us had some  of the best writing and characters I've seen on TV and special honourable shout out to the Black Pearsons >>>

FAVOURITE MUSIC

I'm a R&B and Afrobeats girl at my core. Anything with smooth beats that just takes me to a place, I'm here for. Honourable mention to Soulection too.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

I used to be obsessed with The Joe Budden Podcast, the chemistry between him and his old co-hosts Rory and Mal was pure entertainment and vibes, but they disbanded. So, right now I'd say 90s Baby Show, they are repping for the UK black kings and I recently went to one of their live shows.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

I’m an Afrobeats babe, really like Anderson Paak and Ari Lennox but I absolutely love Rihanna, the girls that get it get it…

FAVOURITE MUSIC

My fave genre of music is R'n'B, I love a good ol' sing along especially when I'm driving but don't get twisted I can still get with some Hip Hop ;)

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

It would have to be Grey’s Anatomy! Like that show 100% needs to be put in the history books as one of the greatest shows written EVER! Shonda Rhimes has my heart in the palm of her hands, whenever I put it on prepared to go on my emotional rollercoaster. The character development throughout that show is like no other.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

I’m known for being a musical jukebox to my friends and family so it’s difficult to pick a favourite song as I listen to EVERYTHING apart from heavy metal. However, without a doubt no matter how much time passes, I often find my way back to Jay-Z - Song Cry as he lives rent-free in my heart and automatically makes me smile.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

My favourite podcasts besides my own (Music2MyEars) lool, would have to be The Receipt’s Podcast, 3 Shots of Tequila and In My Opinion Podcast as they all provide a nice blended balance of light hearted humour while discussing current affairs or approaching must needed conversations within the community.

SHADIN AHMED

TALENT EXECUTIVE

FAVOURITE FILM/TV SHOW

My favourite K-drama is for sure ‘Crash Landing On You’, which I highly highly recommend, it's the perfect mix of romance, comedy and action and definitely the perfect series to start off your K-drama journey (Please watch IN Korean xx).

However, my first love is Scandal created by the genius herself Shonda Rhimes - I don’t think this needs much of an explanation haha.

FAVOURITE MUSIC

My favourite artist… BEYONCE BEYONCE BEYONCE.

FAVOURITE PODCAST

I don’t listen to podcasts much anymore though the Black Girl Podcast was honestly one of the best I had heard - I’m not sure if it is still continuing but I think it is definitely worth going back and listening to all the episodes!
